BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY) Announces Reduced Pricing, Apps for Back To School

I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again: BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is not being passed up in the smartphone market due to a lack of effort. The company appears to be doing all it can to get back on track, but just hasn’t been able to grab enough traction as of late to make a dent.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)If something isn’t working, change it. If the people want something in particular give it to them. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is doing all it can to make changes that will help it better compete with the top players in the smartphone market. From new devices to reduced pricing structures to a growing number of apps, the company is throwing a lot of stuff at the wall with hopes that something will stick.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Reduces Pricing for Enterprise Services

Over the years, BlackBerry’s bread and butter has been its ability to cater to the business person. Maybe the company, headed by CEO Thorsten Heins, has finally realized that it is time to get back to this.

Luke Reimer, a Business Social Media Manager for BlackBerry, recently discussed the company’s decision to cut the cost of BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 EMM Corporate Annual Client Access Licenses (CALs) to $19/year.

Still Trying Hard in the App Game

For most parents and some students, back to school time is a real treat. Donny Halliwell discusses some of the top back to school apps offered by BlackBerry World.

These include apps from many of the names you would expect, such as: CNN, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Discovery Channel.

There are also many productivity apps offered by BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), all of which are perfect for students, teachers, and parents. Here are three of the best: BlackBerry Protect, Evernote, and Dropbox.

Yesterday, BlackBerry shares took another dive when Jefferies analyst Peter Misek, in correspondence with Jason North and Billy Kim, reduced their target price to $15 (down another $3).

At this point, it would be one of the greatest comeback stories of all time if BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) were able to regain its footing in the smartphone market and once again become relevant.

The company continues to slide, despite making changes, such as price cuts, while continuing to build upon its app store.
