Samsung has earned eco-fiendly brownie points with its new LED Smart Bulb, which was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show this week.
The clear edge of this product over others is that the bulb could be connected to a wireless communication protocol ! This will let people control the lighting through their mobile phones and tablets. Now, one can alter the mood of a room from anywhere inside it.
Samsung claims that the 57W-equivalent bulb uses 75 percent less energy, lasts 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs, and compatible with existing sockets. It also emits a warm, white glow, that matches the brightness of incandescent lamps. The bulb was one of the company’s four Eco-Award winning products. The other three include the Series 9 Premium Ultrabook, the CLP-365W Laser Color Printer, and the Green DDR3 memory unit.
