Global Eagle Acquisition Corp. (EAGL: Quote) announced that, upon the closing of its proposed business combination transaction, John LaValle, the Chief Executive Officer or CEO of Row 44, Inc. (Row 44), will become Chief Executive Officer of Global Eagle.
Also, Louis Belanger-Martin, the Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Inflight Alliance AG or AIA, will become Vice Chairman of the Board of Global Eagle, the company added.
Global Eagle stated that under the proposed business combination, it will acquire Row 44 and 86% of the issued and outstanding shares of AIA. Global Eagle Acquisition Corp. will be renamed Global Eagle entertainment Inc. upon the closing and will be the public holding company for both Row 44 and AIA.
Commenting on LaValle, the company said that he has served as the CEO of Row 44 for the past year and after joining the company in 2007, he helped to establish and strengthen Row 44’s leadership position in satellite-based in-flight Wi-Fi and entertainment content.
Global Eagle also noted that LaValle has completed three successful IPOs in his 20 years experience with technology companies.
