Led by Warren Buffett, Berkshire has nearly $90 billion in the U.S. equity markets.
Ken Griffin is the manager of Citadel with a total equity portfolio value of $57.88 billion.
Ken Fisher founded this fund in 1979, which isn’t technically a hedge fund although we still track it due to its prominent spot in the investing world. Fisher Asset Management has been going strong ever since, reaching an equity portfolio value of $38.51 billion.
Jim Simons is top dog at Renaissance Technologies, a hedge fund company with an equity portfolio value of $38.14 billion.
Although many are unfamiliar with the work of Israel Englander, Millennium Management continues to grow and has an equity portfolio value of $32.62 billion.
Carl Icahn is one of the most well known names in the industry, and he oversees $21.51 billion in capital invested in the stock market.
A legendary trader and billionaire, Steven Cohen is the manager of SAC with an equity portfolio value of $18.19 billion.
8) Paulson & Co
John Paulson started this hedge fund in 1994 and the rest is history. He now has over $14 billion invested in the stock market.
Ray Dalio has a long history of investing success, and Bridgewater has $11.4 billion in its equity portfolio.
10) Pershing Square
Bill Ackman believes in long term value investing, and this has suited him well at Pershing Square. The hedge fund has an equity portfolio value of $10.95 billion, and closes out this list of top 10 hedge funds.
