I don’t know what’s more disgusting at this point, the fact that $TWTR can’t get things together, or the fact that every company in the area is trying to make a dime off the local theater shooting.
You see there is a movement going on down here in Lafayette which is starting to annoy me. The city is coming together with a hashtag of all things, called #lafayettestrong.
There are T-shirts being made, glassware being made, signs being made, you name it. Businesses are luring people in to get the latest #lafayettestrong merchandise.
Every hour there’s a new post saying, “come get your #lafayettestrong gear” Profits go to the victims. Somehow, I don’t believe it.
And, frankly, if my daughter was one of the victims, and I witnessed kids prancing around “high-fiving” each other, gathering around like a damn fraternity, I would lose my mind. Maybe I’m looking at it the wrong way, but it’s somewhat sickening to see.
I get it, you want to be strong for the city, but there is a time for laughter and a time to mourn. This is not the time for the former.
Oh yeah, and $TWTR still sucks, as do hashtags.
Carry on.
