Juul Labs told Bloomberg in a statement that its products are currently not available on websites in China. The statement follows the Wall Street Journal’s report that Juul’s sales have been halted in China just days following the launch. Juul’s vaporizers went on sale early last week online on both JD.com (JD) and Alibaba Group’s (BABA) Tmall, with refill pods in flavors such as mint, Virginia tobacco, mango and cream, according to the Journal. A Juul spokeswoman told the Journal that the company remains committed to providing adult smokers in China with an alternative to combustible cigarettes. “We look forward to continued dialogue with stakeholders so that we can make our products available again,” she added. Shares of Altria Group (MO), which has 35% stake in Juul Labs and is currently in merger talks with Philip Morris (PM), are little changed at $41.51 in afternoon trading.
