According to Apptopia data, daily active users and monthly active users on Zoom Cloud Meetings App as of March 22 was 15.3M and 28M, respectively, JPMorgan analyst Sterling Auty tells investors in a research note. This represents a “staggering” 378% increase in daily active users and 186% increase in monthly active users when comparing to the same time in 2019, adds the analyst. Auty says Zoom is experiencing significant uptake in terms of usage and application downloads during the COVID-19 crisis. The analyst, who acknowledges that the stock has had a tremendous run year-to-date and likely could see a sell the news reaction at whatever time we move past the current COVID-19 impacts, believes the pandemic has created a wake-up call in terms of businesses understanding what is possible for remote work set ups that will likely change business behavior going forward.
