Is Slack Going the Way of the Blackberry?

Shares of Slack (WORK) slumped 20% last week after the company posted earnings that topped analyst estimates, but a drop in billings raised concerns that the company is losing ground to competitors. The San Francisco, Calif. technology company provides a channel-based messaging platform for business and is considered to be one of the beneficiaries of the recent work-from-home trend that has emerged during the pandemic.

As shares came under fire, Slack was the third most read stock ticker by financial advisors behind Tesla (TSLA) and Apple (AAPL) last week, according to TrackStarIQ rankings. Readers were likely researching the stock to understand why shares were falling in the face of stronger-than-expected headline EPS and revenue numbers while attempting to determine if the drop in shares creates an investment opportunity.
