Stifel analyst Anoop Prihar last night initiated coverage of Lithium Americas with a Buy rating and $13.25 price target. Lithium Americas is in the process of becoming one of the largest lithium producers globally and is currently finishing construction on the Cauchari-Olaroz Project in Argentina, Prihar tells investors in a research note. The analyst believes the company will file a Definitive Feasibility Study for the Thacker Pass Project in Nevada in the first half of 2021. He expects Thacker Pass could start commercial operations in 2024 and when fully operational, will be capable of producing 60,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate annually. Lithium Americas offers “attractive upside potential” as it executes on its growth strategy, says Prihar.
