Hornby Plc (HRN.L), a holding company for developing hobby and interactive home entertainment products, on Friday announced that Nick Stone will join the company on January 14 as its new Finance Director, Designate.
Stone will succeed Andrew Morris, the current Finance Director, who will leave Hornby during the first quarter of 2013 following an agreed handover period. Andrew joined the Board of Hornby in 2007 and is leaving to take up a position as Chief Executive of a privately owned pharmaceutical business, where he has been a Non-Executive Director since 1998.
Stone, aged 49, was previously the Operations and Finance Director at quoted international software and consultancy group KBC Advanced Technologies PLC. He worked there for eleven years, having joined in 2001 as Finance Director.
Previously, he was interim Finance Director at Accidentcare Group PLC, Finance Director at Lambert Fenchurch Limited and held positions at Mobil Oil Corporation.
Frank Martin, Hornby Chief Executive, said, “I am confident, as we move forward and the management team focuses on improving Hornby’s financial performance, that Nick has the skills and the fresh perspective to add significant value.”
