It didn’t come as a surprise when Microsoft CEO, Steve Balmer, made a cameo appearance during Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs’s Key Note speech at the Consumer Electronics Show this week. Since Microsoft has been delivering the keynote for the last 12 years now, it seems that the software giant is having a hard time letting go of the age-old tradition.
The Microsoft CEO took some time to talk about his company’s Windows RT and Windows 8 Phone products. The connecting point came when he spoke about the Samsung ATIV and Dell XPS, two devices that use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. Though Balmer was on stage for a mere five minutes, it appeared as though he stole the show.
Other participants were Director Guillermo Del Toro, Nascar Sprint Cup Champion Brad Keselowski, and Big Bird from Sesame Street, who showed off a new application, which aims at helping kids learn how to read through word searches. Alice Eve, who stars in the upcoming Star Trek film “Into Darkness”, walked onto stage to introduce a new application related to the movie. Maroon 5 closed the event with a few songs.
