Samsung isn’t the only company trying to cater for the budget consumer by creating a cheaper smartphone. There has been numerous rumors that Apple has plans of introducing an iPhone Mini, a smaller and lower-cost version of the perennial iPhone. Although Apple has yet to confirm this rumor, there are speculations that the Cupertino-based company could introduce the new phone as early as this summer.

The market for budget-friendly smartphones has long been ignored, but that is changing as big tech companies have taken notice at this key market that’s been ignored for quite some time.

Samsung also mentioned that this new software has additional features like Popup Video which allows users to watch a video in a resizable tab while running other tasks, S Voice that allows users to control their phone with voice commands, and Voice unlock that allows users to unlock the device with their voice.

Although Samsung didn’t mention which markets would receive this new phone, they did mention that it wasn’t coming to the UK.
