The estate of Michael Jackson settled a lawsuit with Ola Ray, the woman who appeared as Jacko’s girlfriend in the “Thriller” music video.
The estate will pay Ray $55,000 pursuant to her claim, filed just one month prior to MJ’s passing, of breach of contract. She said that she was still owed a large sum of money from royalties for the video.
The executors are also offering to pay her legal team $20,000 to cover the cost of their lengthy court battle, according to TMZ.com.
John Landis, who directed the vid, “filed a similar lawsuit,” says TMZ, but his settlement was for $2 million. His final payment has not been confirmed, but the music video director has also finally reached a settlement with the estate and production company.
