Best Buy (BBY: Quote) reported Friday that revenues for the nine-week holiday season ended January 5 edged down 0.4 percent from last year, with comparable store sales also declining 1.4 percent.
Best Buy gapped up sharply Friday and climbed during the first half hour of trade. The stock advanced further around mid-afternoon and finished up by 2 points at $14.21 on strong volume. Best Buy closed at nearly a 2-month high and re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
