Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. posted third-quarter net loss of Rs.97.58 crore, while it reported a net profit of Rs.59.52 crore for the quarter ended December 31 last year.
The results under review are in respect of 300 MW Jaypee Baspa II H.E. Plant, 400 MW Jaypee Vishnuprayag H.E. Plant, 1000 MW Jaypee Karcham Wangtoo H.E. Plant and Unit 1 500 MW Jaypee Bina Thermal Power Plant. The Jaypee Bina Thermal Power Plant had commenced commercial operation of its first unit of 250 MW on August 31, 2012, and, therefore, the results of the current quarter are not comparable with the figures of corresponding quarter of previous year, the company said.
Its quarterly net income was Rs.399.17 crore, while the same was at Rs.367.59 crore in the year-ago quarter Other operating income during the quarter stood at Rs.27.84 crore, whereas the company posted Rs.29.15 crore in the preceding year quarter..
For the nine months, it posted a net profit of Rs.451.41 crore, while last year it stood at Rs.409.73 crore.
For the April-December period, the total income, including other operating income, totaled Rs.1,878.15 crore,while the company reported Rs.1,321.79 crore for the comparable period a year ago.
At the BSE, Jaiprakash Power Ventures (formerly Jaiprakash Hydro) shares are trading at Rs.38.15, down 5.22 percent from the previous close.
