Food prices in New Zealand were down a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent on month in December, Statistics New Zealand said on Tuesday, after shedding 0.8 percent in November.
On a yearly basis, food prices dropped 1.0 percent after losing 0.6 percent in the previous month.
Lower prices in the December month for non-alcoholic beverages (down 2.8 percent) offset a rise in meat, poultry, and fish prices (up 0.9 percent), the bureau said.
