Dutch technical services provider Royal Imtech N.V. (IMTEF.PK) on Tuesday said it recently secured traffic technology orders worth more than 43 million euros. These orders are for the high-tech technical infrastructure in a double-deck tunnel in Maastricht, as well as for upgrading and improvement of the current traffic infrastructure in Stockholm, Moscow, Dublin and Copenhagen.
In Maastricht double-deck tunnel, the company noted that, together with Strukton and Ballast Nedam -who jointly form Avenue 2, it will provide the design and implementation of all the technical solutions, i.e., tunnel and traffic technical installations, including the overall management, monitoring and control systems.
In Stockholm, Imtech will implement a high-tech Motorway Traffic Management system in order to improve traffic safety.
In Moscow, the company was commissioned to supply 200 high-tech traffic controllers following two successful pilot programs. This will be the first phase of continued development planned for the coming years.
Imtech CEO René van Bruggen said, “Imtech’s smart traffic technology solutions are allowing it to contribute to better traffic management in Europe which will improve traffic flow as well as the safety of road users. Our footprint in Europe is growing.”
