U.S official are investigating lithium-ion batteries on Boeing’s (NYSE: BA) now grounded new aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner. While an immediate fix isn’t expected, investigators are closing in on a potential problem which is being traced to batteries made by Kyoto, a Japan-based manufacturer. Boeing stock is showing life on hopes a battery flaw is an easy fixed. However, reports are sketchy and investigators clearly haven’t nailed down exact what the problem is.
Following a Boeing 787 battery incident in Japan Wednesday, the FAA operators to temporarily cease operation until it can be demonstrated that the batteries are safe and in compliance.
Shares of Boeing last traded at $75.26, up 1.2%.
