Cubic Transportation Systems (CUB: Quote), an integrator of payment and information technology for travel solutions, said Thursday it has acquired NextBus Inc. from Webtech Wireless Inc. for C$20.75 million, subject to the terms of the purchase agreement.
NextBus is North America’s leading provider of real-time passenger information systems (RTPIS) with more than 100 transit agency deployments in the United States and Canada.
Consistent with Cubic’s Nextcity vision, the acquisition extends the company’s portfolio of information-based solutions for its transit industry customers and positions NextBus to accelerate its growth by leveraging Cubic’s global presence and customer base.
