Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NSANY.PK) said its global production in December decreased 13.6% year-on-year to 343,253 units.
Production in Japan down 23.3% year-on-year to 87,627 units, mainly due to the rebound in production last year after the impact of the earthquake in Japan. Production outside of Japan decreased 9.8% year-on-year to 255,626 units where as production increased 12.6% year-on-year to 49,664 units in the U.S., mainly due to increased demand for the new Pathfinder.
Global sales in December decreased 8.6% year-on-year to 399,828 units. Sales outside of Japan declined 8.0% year-on-year to 360,790 units. Sales in the U.S. down 1.6% year-on-year to 99,290 units.
Nissan’s exports in December fell 16.8% year-on-year to 65,730 units. Exports to North America down 20.7% year-on-year to 41,817 units. Exports to Europe decreased 10.1% year-on-year to 7,085 units.
