William Hill plc (WMH.L) announced its full year, or 53 weeks period to 1 January 2013, group net revenue grew by 12% and operating profit was up 20%. The company noted that the comparator period is 52 weeks ended 27 December 2011. On a 52 week basis, Group net revenue was up 10% and operating profit was up 18%. The Group said its performance in full year 2012 was strong, with operating profit expected to be around 330 million pounds.
William Hill said, in the fourth-quarter, performance was robust in Retail and profits continued to grow strongly in Online, with sporting results going in the company’s favour in both channels. Retail net revenue for the 14 weeks was up 12% on the comparator period. On a 13 week basis, retail net revenue was up 5%. Online net revenue grew 29% for the 14 weeks, and was up 20% on 13 week basis, on strong Sportsbook and Casino growth.
