Unisys Corp. (UIS: Quote) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $81.8 million or $1.67 per share, down from $94.3 million or $1.94 per share last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.93 per share for the third quarter. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.
The recent fourth quarter results included pension expense of $30.4 million, while last year results included pension expense of $6.7 million and a debt reduction charge of $7.6 million.
Excluding items, earnings for the quarter improved to $2.27 per share from $2.22 per share last year.
Fourth-quarter revenues declined 1 percent to $979.3 million from $985.3 million last year.
