“Girl Meets World,” the “Boy Meets World” spin-off program, has discovered the actress to star as its central character—Rowan Blanchard, 11, has been cast in the role of Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley Matthews.
“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” producer Michael Jacobs told entertainment Weekly, which broke the news.
“Rowan is real and accessible, and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”
In the past, Blanchard has appeared in “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D” and “The Back-Up Plan.”
Ben Savage, who stars as Cory on the show, welcomed the young lady to the cast via Twitter: “I have a beautiful, new daughter. Welcome to the family@rowblanchard! #GirlMeetsWorld.”
