Former “Melrose Place” star Amy Locane-Bovenizer has been sentenced to 3 years in prison after killing a woman while drunk driving in 2010. She was convicted last summer in a New Jersey court and will also face several thousand dollars in fines.
The sentence was an apparent disappointment to the family of the victim, 60-year-old Helene Seeman. Her husband exclaimed that the decision was a “travesty” while her 26-year-old called out: “this is not justice!” Both were hoping for the maximum 10-year sentence.
Locane-Bovenizer issued an emotional statement in the court, saying: “I am truly sorry for all of the pain I have caused. My own suffering will never go away.”
She is best known for her 13-episode stint on “Melrose Place” but also appeared in the films “Cry-Baby,” “School Ties” and “Secretary.”
