Japan’s gross domestic product was unchanged in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to the previous three months, the Cabinet Office said in Friday’s revised report.
That missed forecasts for an increase of 0.1 percent after last month’s preliminary reading suggested a 0.1 percent contraction.
On a yearly basis, GDP was up 0.2 percent – in line with expectations and up from the initial reading for a 0.4 percent decline.
Nominal GDP came in at -0.3 percent on quarter – also matching forecasts and up from the preliminary reading -0.4 percent.
The GDP deflator was revised down to -0.7 percent on year, versus forecasts for -0.6 – which would have been unchanged.
