Affymax
Shares of Affymax (NASDAQ: AFFY), the Palo Alto, CA biopharmaceutical company, rose 53% Thursday on 17 times average volume.
Affymax surged higher on unusual option activity and reported comments by Fresenius Medical Care that they would be “open” to the possibility of Omontys return to market.
Affymax shares plummeted on February 25, after they and partner Takeda Pharmaceutical voluntarily recalled Omontys following reports of three deaths attributed to the anemia treatment for kidney dialysis patients.
Affymax closed at $3.52 on Thursday.
