Sim City Game Launch Fails Following Server Problems

EA and Maxis joined hands to launch the latest version of their popular Sim City game earlier this week. However, owing to many server-related problems, the event turned out to be a failure, leaving both the companies embarrassed and panicky.

Before the launch, the company was adamant that there would be no pre-loading of the game before the launch, as they believed that their services would be able to handle the load. However, things went out of hand and resulted in a complete mess on the launch day.

For three days now, players have complained about several issues regarding the video game’s servers. Most players couldn’t get online and the ones who did had lost progress due to connectivity problems. Also, these problems aren’t only affecting players who’re accessing the multiplayer version of the game. If a player wants to play just the single player version of the game, he will have to log on to Electronic Arts’s servers.

Amazon has temporarily suspended copies of the game on its site, as it has been attracting several negative buyer feedback, something that the site has never seen before.

All are keeping their fingers crossed to see how the team at EA and Maxis are going to make amends.
