Cooper Companies Inc. (COO: Quote) reported first quarter adjusted EPS of $1.23 after the bell Thursday, which topped the consensus estimate of $1.19. The company now expects to report full year 2013 adjusted EPS of $5.95 to $6.10, compared to prior expectations of $5.90 to $6.10. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $6.03.
Cooper Companies rose sharply during the first 45 minutes of trade Friday, before settling into a range. Shares finished up by 3.53 at $108.23 on above average volume. The stock broke out of a 1-month range and set a new high for the year.
