Gardner Denver to Be Acquired By KKR for $76/Share

The Deal:

Gardner Denver (NYSE: GDI) and KKR (NYSE: KKR) announced Friday that the companies have agreed to merge in a transaction valued at approximately $3.9 billion or $76 per share in cash, including the assumption of debt.

The transaction is expected to close in Q3 2013.

Gardner Denver closed at $74.74 Friday, a gain of almost 1% on 11 times average volume.

Nielsen Holdings Reportedly Looking to Sell Trade-Show Unit

The Rumor:

Nielsen Holdings (NASDAQ: NLSN) is seeking to sell its expositions business, in a deal that could bring $1 billion, according to Wall Street Journal. Nielsen has reportedly hired Credit Suisse as an adviser.

A spokesperson for Nielsen had no comment on the report.

Nielsen Holdings closed at $34.89 Friday, a gain of $0.59 on 1.5 times average volume.

Hearing Chatter of General Dynamics Interest in Comtech

The Rumor:

General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) reportedly had been in talks to acquire Comtech Telecommunications (NASDAQ: CMTL), according to Deal Reporter. The talks are said to have broken down, according to sources.

A spokesperson for General Dynamics declined comment on the rumor. A Comtech spokesperson was not available for comment.

Comtech Telecommunications closed at $25.77 Friday, a gain of 2.5% on 6.5 times average volume.
