Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was allegedly kicked off the band’s current tour for partying too hard. The news of Sambora’s departure was announced last week via the band’s website and was credited to “personal issues.”
A report in the New York Post, however, indicates that the 53-year-old was out of control on the road and asked to leave the tour by Jon Bon Jovi.
“Jon has been trying to get rid of him,” the unnamed insider told the paper. “He drinks constantly and has a stream of Hollywood bimbos around all the time.”
“[Sambora] told me that he didn’t believe in rehab,” the source added.
Sambora’s spot in the current Bon Jovi tour is being filled by Theofilos Xenidis, who also filled in for him on 13 shows during Bon Jovi’s 2011 tour.
