The average asking price for a house in the United Kingdom jumped 0.4 percent on month in May, property tacking website Hometrack said on Monday – marking the biggest single-month gain in six years.
That follows the 0.3 percent increase in April.
By region, home prices in London spiked 0.9 percent, followed by the South East at 0.5 percent, East Anglia at 0.3 percent, the South West at 0.2 percent and the Midlands at 0.1 percent.
Prices were flat in the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Wales.
