REMI Responds to RisMediaâs Top 5 Feature

The Real Estate Marketing Insiderâs director and executive officer Tobias Nergarden announced his response to a recently published piece in RISMedia titled â5 Ways to Make a Real Estate Comeback.â Mr. Nergardenâs response included his stance on the positions taken in the piece, as well as an analysis of the effectiveness the tips could have for real estate agents trying to heal a real estate practice.

The June 6 piece penned by real estate sales and marketing expert Verl Workman listed five strategies targeted at agents who are trying to re-grow a real estate practice that has been affected by the economic downturn, and the more recent problem of tight housing inventories. Workman began his piece with the assertion that âthe game is all about gaining listings in order to control marketshare.â He advises agents to maintain real relationships and contacts; increase advertising presence in the community; revisit expired listings and for-sale-by-owner properties; explore converting buyers into sellers; and reach out to investors.

Tobias Nergarden released the following statement regarding Mr. Workmanâs piece for RISMedia:

âAll real estate markets, particularly fickle and seasonal ones like vacation rental by owners, will cause some ups and downs for real estate agents. The tips that Mr. Workman has collected to re-grow a faltering practice are excellent pieces of advice for any type of realtor. Particularly valuable is the assertion that every buyer could also be a seller. Simply asking a prospective buyer if they need to sell their home to purchase a new one could turn a buyer into a seller, and in the process double a realtorâs return on an individual clientâs business.â

The Real Estate Marketing Insiderâs executive director, Tobias Nergarden released a statement responding to an article in RISMedia that offered 5 Ways to Make a Real Estate Comeback. Mr. Nergarden praised the article, drawing special attention to the authorâs suggestion that real estate agents turn buyers into sellers whenever possible.
