National Camp Series (NCS) Associate Todd Covington, of Todd Covington All-Star Kicking, has joined Kicking For The Dreamâs effort to fight ovarian cancer according to NFL Kicker, and Kicking For The Dream Founder, Billy Cundiff.
“Todd is a great example to young specialists,” says Cundiff. “He is a great coach who is quick to help those in need. His continued efforts to fight cancer is incredible and cannot be understated. We are excited to have him join our project.”
Covington says one of his goals as a coach is to help kids of all ages learn what it takes to become both a great football player on the field, and a great person off the field as well. He says the Kicking For The Dream project fits right in with this philosophy.
âI’m extremely excited to be a part of Kicking for the Dream, and feel honored to have the opportunity to encourage all of my players from Todd Covington All-Star Kicking to be involved in this project,â says Covington.
Like many other NCS Associates, Covington says cancer is a personal issue to both him and his wife.
âMy wife and I have been involved in the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma,â says Covington. âWe lost my wife’s mother to that cancer. We also just recently lost one our best friends to Colon cancer. So we are very passionate in helping everyone we can to keep up the fight against cancer!!â Covington has over 20 years of kicking experience within the high school ranks, collegiate level, and professional. He played his college football at Hampton University as a four year starter as a kicker and punter. He finished his career as one of the top three kickers/punters in school history and is the holder of several school records, as well as being named to several all-conference and all-state honors.
Covington was also selected to two all-star games In his junior and senior season. Todd’s football career continued with NFL tryouts with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Buffalo Bills. Covington is among a number of NCS Associates to announce his support for the Kicking For The Dream project. Last month, NCS Founder Michael Husted was the first to support Cundiffâs project.
The National Camp Series (NCS) is a nationwide network of expert kicking coaches with NFL and College level playing experience. According to Husted, the goal of NCS is to provide effective instruction on the field and guidance off of the field that will allow student-athletes the ability to leverage their sport to get a college education.

Cundiff, who has been an NFL kicker for over 10 years for teams such as the Cowboys, Saints, Browns, Ravens and Redskins, launched Kicking For The Dream in May of 2013, as an effort to support Colleenâs Dream Foundation, a foundation which raises money to support research for the early detection of, and improved treatment for, ovarian cancer.
He says Colleenâs Dream Foundation started in 2012 as a result of his mother-in-lawsâ battle with ovarian cancer.
âColleen felt it was important to raise money for research that will lead to reliable early detection testing and improved treatment for ovarian cancer,â says Cundiff. âBecause so little is known about ovarian cancer in proportion to other womenâs health issues, we have an incredible opportunity for research and education.â
Cundiff says he appreciates having Covingtonâs support in this effort, and looks forward to working with all the NCS Associates who are willing to support the Kicking For The Dream project.
âI talked to a number of NCS Associates at this yearâs NCS Super Camp and there was a great deal of interest in participating in Kicking For The Dream,â says Cundiff. âI will continue to reach out to all the NCS Associates over the next few months to enlist their help as well.â
