Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS) 9.2% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of ($2.11), versus the analyst estimate of ($0.96). Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.3 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.33 billion.
Cytokinetics, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYTK) 9% HIGHER; 1-for-6 reverse split, Astellas collaboration.
Mitek Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MITK) 8.9% LOWER; intends to offer and sell, subject to market and other conditions, shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement. All of the shares in the proposed offering are to be sold by Mitek. Mitek expects to grant the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the shares of common stock offered in the public offering solely to cover overallotments, if any.
Walgreen Company (NYSE: WAG) 5.8% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.85, $0.06 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.91. Revenue for the quarter came in at $18.3 billion versus the consensus estimate of $18.44 billion. Front-end comparable store sales (those open at least a year) increased 0.4 percent in the third quarter, customer traffic in comparable stores decreased 3.9 percent and basket size increased 4.4 percent, while total sales in comparable stores increased 1.4 percent.
Sonic Corp (NASDAQ: SONC) 3.7% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.26, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter came in at $146.63 million versus the consensus estimate of $147.54 million. System-wide same-store sales increased 0.1 percent during the third quarter, consisting of 0.2 percent same-store sales increase at franchise drive-ins and a decrease of 1.1 percent at company drive-ins; weather is estimated to have had a 300 to 400 basis point adverse impact on system-wide same-store sales for the quarter.
Navistar International (NYSE: NAV) 3% LOWER; announced that Andrew J. (A. J.) Cederoth, the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), will be leaving Navistar at the end of the month as part of a planned transition to a new CFO. Cederoth, 48, has served as the company’s CFO since September 2009.
Carnival Corp. (NYSE: CCL) 3.4% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.09, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.06. Revenue for the quarter came in at $3.48 billion versus the consensus estimate of $3.56 billion. Carnival Corp. sees FY2013 EPS of $1.45-1.65, versus the consensus of $1.60
Lennar Corp. (NYSE: LEN) font color=”limegreen”>3.1% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.61, including a partial reversal of the state deferred tax asset valuation allowance of $0.18, versus analyst estimate of $0.33. Revenue for the quarter came rose 53% to $1.4 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.33 billion.
Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) 2.6% HIGHER; Craig-Hallum upgraded from Neutral to Buy.
Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) 2.5% LOWER; Bernstein downgraded from Market Perform to Underperform with a price target of $180.00 (from $125.00).
Mitel Networks Corp (NASDAQ: MITL) 1.8% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.25, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenue for the quarter came in at $150.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $145.71 million. Mitel Networks Corp sees Q1 2013 revenue of $140-145 million, versus the consensus of $145.8 million.
