Curious to see which jobs in demand are the most sought after? Maybe you are looking for a career change. Maybe you are searching for potential universities and you are wondering how many chances of finding employment you have once you graduate. Whatever your reason, the following countdown will help.
In a style similar to our coverage of the world’s most dangerous jobs, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the ten most in demand jobs. In ranking the ten jobs we have used data provided by the US Bureau of Labor, which publishes its statistics every 2 years. In order to rank the ten professions we have used the number of new jobs added in the field since the year 2010 as the main indicator. From our list, it is more than evident that computer and advertising skills or an engineering degree are the highest in demand requirements on the job market. As technology continues to evolve and is slowly becoming an integral part of most businesses, it is safe to assume that anyone who chooses to pursue a job in this field has a long and fruitful career ahead of them.
The most in demand job in the US is currently represented by software developers for companies like Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) or Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), with more than 70,000 new job positions opened in the past 3 years. The largest growth, however, of 10% was reported by the marketing sector. Over the past 3 years, 30,000 new job positions opened for market research analysts and marketing specialists.
A note of caution: all jobs listed in our top ten will require a bachelor’s degree (at the very least), but the great news is that they are some of the best paid jobs around. Formal education does pay, after all.
Wondering who else has made the list apart from software developers and marketing specialists? Let’s take a look at the countdown.
