American Patriots Commandeer Government Building… Beginning of Civil Unrest?

The polarization of America continues apace.

On the one side you have a self-styled “militia” – some 150 strong – that has occupied a federal refuge as to protest the imminent jailing of Dwight Hammond Jr. and Steven Hammond, who are going to prison on Monday for the next five years because they tampered with land that the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) claims belongs to the government.

montel-crazy-oregonOn the other side you have former talk-show host Montel Williams turned bloodthirsty drug dealer (he peddles chemicals for the pharmaceutical industrial complex). Williams has taken to Twitter to call for the National Guard to storm the militia members held up in a vacant wilderness building to “shoot to kill.” He even called for them to be “disemboweled”!

And throngs of state worshippers like him agree. It’s slave-on-slave action. Montel and people like him enjoy their slavery and if anyone, in any way, stands up to being enslaved, they will call for them to be immediately shot or brutally murdered. These are the same people who are in favor of “gun control”, by the way. By “gun control” they mean that they want their owners (government) to use guns to take away the slave’s guns.

The polarization is evident in that many of the people who were supportive of uprisings in Ferguson and Baltimore are adamantly against what is going on in Oregon. And many of the people who support the pushback in Oregon were adamantly against what occurred in Ferguson and Baltimore. What they don’t realize is that they are both symptoms of the same problem… an overarching government oppression that is pushing people to the brink. And this divisiveness is what the government wants.

Twitter comments and feedback on the Oregon stand-off took both sides depending on the publication and its audience. In fairness to the Hammonds, it does seem as if fedgov has been involved in a large scale harassment of the Hammonds that has gone on for decades. Supposedly there are oil, gas and valuable minerals on the Hammond’s ranch, and its location is proving vexatious to the feds – as fedgov already has clear title, apparently, to numerous parcels around the Hammonds beleaguered ranch.

A perceived sense of unfairness motivates the protesters. The militia involved claims to be highly armed and has stated that its members are prepared to hold out for a very long time. The militia includes the Bundy brothers. The Bundys famously faced down the BLM in a widely covered dispute over grazing rights that escalated to an armed standoff.

Clive Bundy, was quoted as saying, “I want to emphasize that the American people are wondering why they can’t seem to get ahead or why everything is costing more and you are getting less, and that is because the federal government is taking and using the land and resources.”

This, of course, is what we have been saying for years here at the Dollar Vigilante… the federal government and the Federal Reserve are decimating any last vestiges of freedom and prosperity in the US.

According to the Hill.com, 2015 was a year of record-setting insanity for the Federal Register. The article cited a release from the Competitive Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C.: “This year’s daily publication of the federal government’s rules, proposed rules and notices amounted to 81,611 pages as of Wednesday, higher than last year’s 77,687 pages and higher than the all-time high of 81,405 pages in 2010 — with one day to go in 2015.”

The Bundys have often been painted as “extremists” but it is likely that many Americans share at least some of their sentiments when it comes to out-of-control government.

About 100 million Americans own about 300 million guns and many of these individuals are increasingly contemptuous of the facilities of civil society. According to polls, under 10 percent, a virtual rounding error, believe Congress to be trustworthy. And not many more have much faith in the executive or judicial branch.

The US system of governance is failing because it is an out-of-control tyranny. Thankfully, many of the people opposed to its depredations are not defenseless… they are armed. Empires rarely if ever reverse course and thus it is only a matter of time before some of those individuals and the US federal government may come into significant and escalating conflict.

It is very likely that fedgov – or elements of it – expect a fairly large insurgency at some point. Fedgov in many ways is out of control and the managed economy is nowhere near as good as claimed.

Tens of millions are out of work, sick and tired – and increasingly fearful and angry. And many are armed and convinced the federal government is not working for them. It is working against them. Even though the propaganda and the message say otherwise.

Of course these episodes are emblematic of a deeper level of support in Texas, for instance, and the red states generally. But support for those who think the American system is failing them has a good deal of opposition too, some of it voiced by the federal government and its representatives.

For instance, US Senator, Harry Reid, has called the Bundys and their supporters, “domestic terrorists” because of their armed standoff with the BLM. Reid made his statements in April 2014 around the time of the armed Bundy standoff.

“Those people who hold themselves out to be patriots are not. They’re nothing more than domestic terrorists,” Reid was quoted as saying during an appearance at a Las Vegas Review-Journal event at the Paris Las Vegas. He said, “I repeat: What went on up there was domestic terrorism.”

This is what the new terrorists look like:

Such rhetoric represents the continued polarization of US society. Whether it is gun control, global warming or Washington’s increasing power, there are ardent proponents on each side. Some even urge a policy of “shoot to kill” as Montel Williams has just done.

I personally have no doubt things are going to get worse before they get better. It’s my humble opinion that the US is already in a kind of state of civil war even if it’s not a shooting war yet.

It’s not just me who thinks it is close to that. The Pentagon has been planning for mass civil unrest for years. And Jade Helm succeeded in distributing massive amounts of military equipment throughout the US… in preparation for what?

The US is a ticking time bomb… and it will only get worse as the economy continues to collapse. Once the dollar collapses it will be full-blown pandemonium.

Will this standoff be what sets it off? It’s unlikely. So far it is a few angry guys who took over an abandoned tourist gift shop.

As we speak, big brother is moving in the heavy machinery, however. If this does go Waco it may be the beginning of something much bigger.

If it doesn’t go Waco it is just a matter of time now until things devolve to the point of massive civil unrest. Especially with Obama about to announce a new dictatorial order on further gun control. On New Year’s Day, Texas Governor Greg Abbott had a strong message for President Obama regarding his upcoming plan to unilaterally enact gun control legislation: “Come and take it.”

Things are going to get increasingly out of control in the US. For this reason we are happy to be outside of the country, comfortably reporting on the devolution from the beach in Mexico… and suggest you consider getting out of Dodge as well. Hundreds will be joining us at Anarchapulco and our TDV Internationalization & Investment Summit next month, many with an eye of getting their assets and themselves out of the US before things get worse. And if the action on the opening day of the stock markets globally are any indication (more on that later today), things are off to a very rough start.

In the meantime, we’ll continue to cover the ongoing dollar collapse and all its repercussions here, as always. We don’t expect to be bored in 2016!
