Cisco (CSCO) is close to a deal to buy BroadSoft (BSFT) for almost $2B, Reuters reports, citing a person familiar with the matter. The deal would allow Cisco to give it a stronger foothold selling unified communications software to large telecom companies, the report notes. A deal could be announced as early as today, the source says. Reuters said in August that BroadSoft was exploring a sale.
