Samples of Johnson & Johnson’s baby shampoo failed quality tests conducted by the northwestern Indian state of Rajasthan, just a few months after authorities in the country launched a probe into J&J’s baby powder products, Reuters’ Subrat Patnaik reports. According to the Rajasthan Drugs Control Organization, J&J’s baby shampoo failed the tests as they contained “harmful ingredients.” A J&J spokeswoman said that the results it received from the watchdog indicated that formaldehyde had been discovered in the samples, adding that “We do not accept the interim results given to us, which mentioned samples to ‘contain harmful ingredients- identification positive for formaldehyde.”
