Apple’s event today to announce new iPhones as well as updates to other products and services can generally be described as “more incremental than dramatic,” Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson tells investors in a research note. For the iPhone, the expectations going into the event regarding improved cameras and faster processors were largely accurate, says the analyst. Further, Olson does not expect Apple’s TV Plus and Arcade to be material to estimates in the near-term. The analyst continues to expect “limited excitement” around the iPhones announced today ahead of potential 5G iPhones next year. He maintains an Overweight rating on Apple shares with a $243 price target. The stock closed the trading day up $2.53 to $216.70.
