NY Governor Andrew Cuomo delivered his daily COVID-19 briefing, during which he reported 422 coronavirus-related deaths in the state yesterday vs. 438 virus deaths the previous day. Governor Cuomo added that 398 deaths occurred in hospitals and 24 in nursing homes. Cuomo reported that hospitalizations are down to 14,200, the net change in hospitalizations is down, intubations are down, and new COVID hospitalizations are down slightly but are essentially flat. Cuomo said, “The question we’re watching now is how fast is the decline and how far does that number drop.” Governor Cuomo expanded on Thursday’s comments, pertaining to Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell’s comments on being in favor of states declaring bankruptcy, and noted “legally, a state can’t declare bankruptcy… Congress has to pass a bill that says a state can declare bankruptcy and the president has to sign it into law.”
