Fly Intel: Top five analyst upgrades

Catch up on today’s top five analyst upgrades with this list compiled by The Fly: 1. Facebook (FB) upgraded to Hold from Sell at Pivotal Research with analyst Michael Levine saying the company last night reported Q1 results that were far better than anybody anticipated. 2. Southwest (LUV) upgraded to Buy from Hold at Stifel with analyst Joseph DeNardi saying the stock’s relative underperformance compared to its “strong-balance sheet brethren” presents an attractive entry point as Southwest will emerge from the COVID-19 crisis in a stronger position than it entered. 3. Artisan Partners (APAM) upgraded to Outperform from Market Perform at Keefe Bruyette with analyst Robert Lee saying the company’s management fees and revenues were above forecast in Q1, helped by performance fees as well as slightly higher average assets under management. 4. Hologic (HOLX) upgraded to Outperform from Market Perform at SVB Leerink with analyst Richard Newitter saying he believes the company’s recent approval for a second COVID-19 test on its broader Panther platform will mitigate the negative impact from COVID-19-related elective procedure/capital revenue deferrals elsewhere in the business to a much greater extent than he had previously contemplated and serve to enhance its long-term competitive positioning within the molecular diagnostics segment with potential to generate durable incremental revenue growth momentum for the franchise on the other side of COVID-19 over the next several years. 5. Mercer (MERC) upgraded to Outperform from Neutral at Credit Suisse with analyst Andrew Kuske citing a view of China and European markets benefiting from an earlier recovery versus the Americas.
