We’re pausing our advertising until Facebook can create an acceptable solution that makes us comfortable and is consistent with what we’ve done with YouTube and other partners.” According to Pathmatics, Verizon spent an estimated $406,600 in Instagram ads between May 22 and June 20, and spent $1.46M on Facebook in that same time period, CNBC reports. The move comes after the Anti-Defamation League said in an open letter that it found an advertisement for Verizon “appearing next to a video from the conspiracy group QAnon drawing on hateful and antisemitic rhetoric.” Shares of Facebook are down 1%, or $2.43, to $233.25 in premarket trading.
