Safety is usually a major concern in all aspects of life, whether it be feeling physically safe from harm, financially safe from debt, or being safe from illnesses. Not many people think about getting sick until it happens, and people definitely probably don’t think about getting sick from the food we eat. While it’s not exactly the kind of thing anyone wants to ponder on while eating a meal, there is a risk of produce and other food items not being properly washed before consumption. Even to be more unflattering, this can sometimes lead to foodborne illnesses.
Luckily, there are companies out there who try and avoid people getting sick from these illnesses via preventative products. PURE Bioscience, Inc. (OTCQB:PURE) and SmartWash Solutions jointly announced recent successful study results documenting that the pretreatment use of their new product, SmartWash Boost dramatically reduces the risk of foodborne illness.
Traders seemed to be excited about the news as shares traded up to $1.18/share (+14.5%) in today’s trading session. This is a breath of fresh air for long term shareholders after the stock has failed to rally over its 10-day SMA for weeks. With a little more buying pressure, it could potentially end the downward trend it has been witnessing since September.
