Quidel (QDEL) has made a preliminary approach to Qiagen (QGEN) to gauge interest in a potential combination, Bloomberg reports, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Deliberations are at an early stage, and there’s no certainty they will result in a deal, sources told the Bloomberg. Shares of Qiagen are up 6% to $57.52 following the report while Quidel is down 65c to $236.35 in afternoon trading.
