Shares of Workhorse Group (WKHS) are up about 20% in afternoon trading after Bloomberg reported that Congressman Jared Huffman, a Democrat from California, said in an interview that he and other members of Congress plan to seek to stop the award from the U.S. Postal Service to Oshkosh (OSK) for its next generation fleet of delivery vehicles. “This is an urgent situation where we cannot allow this contract to go forward,” Huffman said, according to Bloomberg. Oshkosh was awarded the 10-year contract to manufacture up to as many as 165,000 postal delivery vehicles, which Workhorse was also competing to win.
