Jeff Bezos Tops Forbes Magazine’s 2021 Billionaires List

Forbes magazine’s annual “billionaires list” is out and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos remains in the top spot for the fourth consecutive year with a net worth of $177 billion U.S.

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) Chief Executive Officer and Canadian citizen Elon Musk is in second place on this year’s billionaires list with a net worth of $151 billion U.S., according to Forbes. Musk had been ranked 31st on the billionaires list last year.

In all, this year’s billionaires list includes a record 2,755 people who have a combined net worth of $13.1 trillion U.S., up from $8 trillion U.S. in 2020.

Bernard Arnault, Chief Executive Officer of luxury goods firm LVMH, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) co-founder Bill Gates and Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg round out the top five of the world’s richest billionaires.

Investor Warren Buffett, age 90, fell out of the top five billionaires for the first time in over two decades, as technology executives now dominate the Forbes rankings.

This year’s list has 493 new entrants, including Whitney Wolfe Herd, Chief Executive Officer of dating app Bumble (NASDAQ:BMBL), which went public earlier this year.
