New York Stock Exchange Registers Multiple Cryptocurrency Trademarks

The world’s biggest stock exchange is taking a step towards entering the %Metaverse.

The New York Stock Exchange has registered the term “NYSE” for several cryptocurrency-related products, including non-fungible tokens (%NFTs) and an exchange that offers cryptocurrency trading services.

However, this isn’t the New York Stock Exchange’s first venture into the world of %DigitalCoins and %Tokens.

Last April, the NYSE unveiled a series of NFTs that celebrate the “first trades” of some of its most notable listings, including %Spotify ($SPOT), %Snowflake ($SNOW), %DoorDash ($DASH) and %Roblox ($RBLX), among others.

The series of NYSE digital collectables are available for purchase on %Cryptocurrency exchange crypto.com.

The New York Stock Exchange has said that many more NFTs will become available as it continues to welcome “new, innovative companies” to its ‘community.

Trademark registrations are often carried out as a legal procedure to protect an entities’ name and brand and prevent it from being used without permission.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which overseas stock trading in the U.S., including on the NYSE, has said publicly that it is looking at ways to impose greater regulations on cryptocurrencies and related digital products.
