%Tumblr is expanding its %TipJar feature to now include blog-level tipping for its iOS and web applications.
The company rolled out its tip jar feature last month allowing users to leave tips on various posts. The latest expansion allows users to now leave tips on blog posts. Tumblr says the expansion will benefit creators.
Going forward, people can enable tipping for their blog in their profile or blog view. Once someone signs up for tipping, a tip button becomes available on the blogs header. To tip a blogger, people select the “Tip” button and select how much they’d like to gift.
When users tip a creator, they can send a note alongside the tip. Anonymous tips are also allowed. Users can send tips of up to $100 U.S. each.
Tumblr, which is a blogging and social networking site, says it’s working on adding a blog-level tipping feature to its Android app soon.
The tip jar feature follows Tumblr’s launch of Post+ last fall, which allows users to charge a monthly fee for access to exclusive posts.
Tumblr is among several %SocialMediaPlatforms that offer tip jar features to allow users to send one-time payments to creators. %Twitter ($TWTR) rolled out a tip jar feature last May and TikTok began testing a new tipping feature last October.
