Calgary Home Sales Dropped 2% In June

Home sales in Calgary, Alberta fell 2% in June from a year earlier as the market in the western

Canadian city begins to cool.

The Calgary Real Estate Board said the number of detached and semi-detached houses that

changed hands in June declined from record levels seen in the same month last year.

The Alberta board said last month’s sales in Calgary totaled 2,842, down 2% from a record high

of 2,914 achieved in June 2021.

Sales in the detached market declined for a third consecutive month and were largely impacted

by homes priced below $600,000.

However, despite the slowdown in sales, the average home price in Calgary hit $517,059 in

June, up 5% from $494,163 a year ago.

The number of new listings in the city totaled 4,061, a 2% drop from 4,134 in June 2021.
