Canadian Pacific Railway and Unifor Reach Labour Pact

Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) and Unifor have reached a new tentative collective agreement that covers 1,200 workers who are responsible for maintaining locomotives and rail cars.

The company and the union say details of the new contract will not be released until the agreement has been ratified by union members in an upcoming vote.

Unifor says it will provide its membership with information in coming days on ratification meetings, which will be held at multiple locations across the country.

The contract covers workers at 18 locations in provinces ranging from British Columbia to Quebec. Negotiations between management and the union had been active since September of last year.

The previous collective agreement expired on December 31, 2022.

Canadian Pacific’s stock is up 8% in the past year at $105.96 per share.
